Dr. Andre’a Watkins joins Greenbrook TMS NeuroHealth Centers as a board certified Psychiatrist and Neurologist with extensive clinical experience. Dr. Watkins obtained her Medical Degree and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Watkins completed her residency training at the University of Maryland-Sheppard Pratt where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Watkins has clinical research experience in the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, and also was involved with Community Based Participatory Research focusing on programs to treat depression in African American women. Dr. Watkins served as an Attending Psychiatrist at the Inpatient Young Adult Unit at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Towson, Maryland and as a staff psychiatrist in the Partial Hospital Program, treating patients suffering from mood, psychotic and dual diagnosis disorders. Dr. Watkins has also dedicated her time to medical student teaching. In addition, she directed Resident teaching in the Telepsychiatry Clinic which served patients on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Dr. Watkins holds a Bachelor of Science from Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia. She has a passion for writing and educating the community and has written several articles on depression and psychotic disorders that can be found on Health Grades.
Dr. Watkins currently serves as the Medical Director of Axis Healthcare Group. She also serves in the capacity of an Inpatient Psychiatrist as Medical Director and Chairman of Behavioral Health at Southern Maryland Hospital.
